Shaydens Glasses

 Looking good, Shayden!

Every one has been very excited to see Shayden's new glasses so.... we hope these super duper glasses will help him rocket away in reading!

Flat Stanley

In Room 1 we have read the book Flat Stanley and we have made our very own Flat Stanley in

class and then... we created a Flat KC who travels all sorts of places with us and others. We write about his adventures and look forward to seeing where he will pop up!

Poetry Week

We had great fun writing poems for Poetry Week. Here are some of our wonderful poems from the class.

Winter

Winter feels like freezing wind nibbling at my nose,
Winter looks like skeleton trees,
Winter sounds like the sea swishing at the beach,
Winter tastes like freezing ice-cream in my mouth.
I love winter!

By T.J.

Winter

The wind smashes on my face like the sea,
Freezing my fingers like icicles,
The wind sounds like singing birds,
I love winter,
The trees look like big, fat skeletons.

By Ben.

Winter

Winter is freezing on my feet,
Winter freezes the trees and they look like skeletons,
Winter feels cold on my face.

By Hayden.

Winter

Winter feels like bugs biting my toes,
Winter looks like frozen soldiers standing still,
Winter sounds like the wind blowing in my face,
Winter tastes like frozen ice-cream,
Winter is like freezing water.

By Isabella

Winter

Winter is like ice from Antarctica,
It feels like wind blowing me away,
It tastes like ice,
Winter looks like rotten trees,
I love winter!

By Joseph.

Winter

Winter is freezing,
Winter is windy,
Winter is like ice dropping on a leaf.

By Bradley.

Spaghetti

Spaghetti,
Slippery, slimy,
Looks like snakes,
What a big mess!
Slop! Slurp!

By Jenna

Below are some of our cinquain poems we wrote:

Spaghetti

Spaghetti,
Slimy, slippery
Looks like snakes
Shaped like ropes
Messy!

By Angel

Spaghetti

Spaghetti,
Yummy as snakes,
Slurpy as slugs,
Slimy as a snake,
HOT!

By Lincoln.

Chocolate

Chocolate
Sticky, sweet
Creamy like milk
Melting in my mouth
Scrumptious!

By Ethan.

Strawberries

Strawberries
Sour, delicious
Juicy as apples
Like a strawberry lollipop
Good.

By Noah.

The sandman is coming !!

When we hear that the Sandman is coming we think it is bedtime but.... oh! no! At avrdon School we have a new sandpit to play in thanks to the PTA and the Board. Thank you everyone, we know how much our future engineers in Room1 will love the extra space.
We all went out to watch the sand truck deliver the sand to make our fun complete.
